Shuttle Columbia Special Event Station

The Space Shuttle Columbia crashed over Nacogdoches and East Texas on February 1, 2003. The Nacogdoches Amateur Radio (NARC) has sponsored a Special Event station the first Saturday of February every year since then to remember and honor the hundreds of Amateur Radio operators who came to Nacogdoches to assist local hams provide communications for the many agencies who were searching for any part of the shuttle that might have survived reentry. NARC also remembers and honors the brave Astronauts who lost their lives that day in 2003.

All contacts with K5C during this event will be confirmed via LOTW. Requests for paper QSL’s should be accompanied by a SASE.

Next NARC meeting February 6, 2019

The next monthly meeting of the Nacogdoches Amateur Radio Club will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the School Lunch Room at Christ Episcopal Church. All with an interest in Amateur Radio are welcome to attend.
