Space Shuttle Columbia Special Event Station K5C

The Space Shuttle Columbia crashed over Nacogdoches and East Texas on February 1, 2003. Hundreds of Amateur Radio operators came to Nacogdoches to assist authorities in finding and recovering the shuttle wreckage. To honor those hams and in memory of the brave astronauts who lost their lives that day, NARC has hosted a special event every year since then on the first Saturday in February. The club will again have stations on the air this year February 3 – 4 using the special callsign K5C. Please look for us. We would love to work you. All contacts will be confirmed via LOTW. Paper QSL card requests should include an SASE and sent via the W5NAC address.
